Our Story

What started as a real estate purchase of a condemned property in Gloucester, MA turned into an accidental ice cream side hustle, and eventually evolved into an obsession with making a product that makes you go, “Wow. This is really good,” with every flavor you try.


From our unique flavor combinations to our house-made mix-ins, we don’t cut corners and like to keep you on your toes with what we’ll come up with next (Salted Butter Cracker Ice Cream with Ritz Cracker Toffee Bark, anyone?). We love keeping our menu diverse—maintaining some of the classics while also catering to the nostalgia of junk foods and childhood treats. Not everyone wants cardamom spice in their ice cream, so we’ll always balance our holier-than-thou (pun intended) gourmet flavors with crowd favorites like Fruity Pebbles Cereal Milk or Christmas snack cake ice cream.


And then there’s the experience. When you walk into Holy Cow, if your first impression isn’t our eye-catching aesthetic, it’ll be the smell of our made-to-order waffle cones. Sure, this might take a little longer than your average scoop—but that’s part of the Holy Cow difference. We want every visit to feel worth it and keep you coming back again and again.
